Abstract
|

|
The influence of calcium on cell proliferation of normal human fibroblast and virus-transformed human fibroblast were investigated in vitro.
The concentration of 0.02mM-Ca^(++) stimulate the cell proliferation of normal and adenovirus type 12-simian murine sarcoma virus 40 transformed human fibroblast, but the concentration of 0.2mM-Ca^(++) decrease cell proliferation in both. However, calcium has little or no influence on cell proliferation of kirsten murine sarcoma virus-transformed human fibroblast.
The data suggest that the influence of calcium on cell proliferation of transformed human fibroblast is restricted to the specific virus which has the ability of replication in the transfored cell.
